Senior Life Foundation restructures board
The Senior Life Foundation elected Mari Terbrueggen as chief executive officer, Saundra R. Kidd as president, and John M. Thomas as senior vice president at its January 2013 board meeting.
According to Terbrueggen, “The Senior Life Foundation’s attention is on succession planning, identifying backups for all positions and setting priorities as we enter our second decade of serving seniors. The three of us will work together to better utilize our personal skills and to put us in a position of greater strength to ensure the long term success of this wonderful organization that we've created together.”
Terbrueggen noted that “Priorities for the Senior Life Foundation include recruiting new customer specialists to staff our emergency help line (904-268-9128), expanding our donor base of individuals, corporations and foundations, and adding new skilled board members.”
Additional members of the executive committee of the Senior Life Foundation include Deana Goodbread, vice president, operations; Mary M. Grimm, vice president, development; Betty D. Gurney, vice president, financial officer; Sherry Murray, secretary; and Joan Turner, who recently was named vice president, outreach. Board members include Jackie Brinkley, Tabatha Carlyle, Jim Fair, Terry A. Glass, M.S., J.D., the Hon. Art Graham and Betty Smith.
The mission of the Senior Life Foundation is to help meet the urgent needs of low-income seniors in Duval County with a rapid response time and to help them live independently and with dignity. The Senior Life Foundation is all-volunteer and 98 percent of its income is paid out in direct assistance to seniors.
